Size and width

Sizes, widths and what the numbers mean

US sizes, the paired numbers on unisex pairs, and how cork, foam and EVA behave when they are between two sizes.

Every size of every colour has its own page with its own figure, and the row of sizes on a page links the rest of that colour. 53 size steps are in the catalogue today.

The paired numbers

Unisex pairs are listed as two numbers, "8-8.5 Women / 6.5-7 Men", because the same last is sold to both. Take the number from your own side of the slash. Where a women's pair is listed as a range ("9-10"), it covers both of those sizes.

Between two sizes

Cork and EVA do not stretch: the footbed you get on day one is the footbed you keep, so go up. Memory foam compresses by a few millimetres in the first week, so a snug pair settles rather than stretches. Suede gives a little across the ball of the foot and nowhere else.

Width

The maker does not publish width fittings for this range, so nothing here claims a wide last. What does take a wider foot is an adjustable buckle: the clogs and the buckled cork sandals open up across the instep, and the plain slides do not.

Measuring instead of guessing

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the longest toe, measure heel to mark in inches, and compare with the size chart at our retail partner. Do it in the evening: feet are at their largest in the evening, and a house shoe is an evening shoe.
